I came across a popular article the other day that popped up on my newsfeed and wanted to share it here on my blog as well (for those who may not have read it already) as food for thought. In “The Case Against ‘Good Enough'” Kathleen Trenske conveys the importance of professionally printed photos. While acknowledging that “getting the disc” is good but not “good enough,” she emphasizes the necessity of investing in prints/albums that will stand the test of time in order to be enjoyed for, well, who knows how long – without the barrier of obsolete technology.
I believe “to each his own” when it comes to spending money. Sure, right? We draw our own preferences and decisions from a backdrop that is uniquely ours. But I fully agree (perhaps because I am deeply sentimental but more obviously because it is fact) that the value of professionally printed photographs increases exponentially over time. Your stories are worth documenting and preserving well so they can be shared and pored over for years to come.
