When should I book my newborn session?
Newborns are best photographed between 5-10 days old, when they curl gently and easily into peaceful, sleepy poses, are less wakeful, and typically haven’t yet developed newborn acne or colic. It’s ideal to book your session while you are pregnant. Because baby’s birth date is unpredictable, I’ll reserve a flexible session date for one week after your due date. When baby arrives, please contact me as soon as possible so we can set or confirm the session to take place when he/she is about one week old.
Where do sessions take place?
Newborn sessions take place in my natural light Elmvale studio. Older babies can be photographed in the studio or outdoors on location. Family sessions take place outdoors at a nearby apple orchard/farm, fields/trails, and the beach.
How long do sessions last?
Newborn sessions last as long as they need to. Sessions are never rushed in order to allow for plenty of feeding breaks, rest, and a calm environment. Newborn sessions typically last between 2-4 hours. Baby and family sessions are usually 1-2 hours long.
How much is the session fee and does it include prints or digital files?
The newborn session fee is $175. Baby and family sessions (studio or on-location) are $150. The session fee includes set-up for your session, a phone/email consultation, the session itself, and your password-protected, online proofing gallery. Prints, digital files and other products are purchased separately. Packages offer valuable savings over individually priced prints/products.
